Act 3 scene 2

Tory and Michelle are holding hands in front of a large crowd of people, dressed breathtakingly. It is their wedding reception and they are handing out slices of wedding cake to their guests with huge matching smiles on the faces. Closest to them are Neil, Terry, Jack, and his friend Bob, and even Jack looks happier than usual. It is the second anniversary of the 9/11 events.

Tory smiles lovingly down at Michelle. TORY: well, we are stuck together for better or for worse now. Congratulations Mrs. DiAngelo.

NEIL: here, here; I totally agree, and might I add that you look perfect today Michelle. This is your biggest performance yet. And Tory, you are glowing so much with pride that I might need a pair of sunglasses to deal with it. Both of the newlyweds chuckle, then Michelle frowns as the cell phone she is carrying in a tiny beaded bag goes off. On the other line is her Aunt belle, sounding frantic and excited.

BELLE: Michelle, you have to come to my house right away; I have made a shocking discovery. Do not let your father know of this journey yet in case I am mistaken, but that is very unlikely. I think I might have found the baby your mother was carrying. I was walking up the sidewalk and as I passed the orphanage I saw a dark-haired little girl playing in the yard of it. She looked just like your mother, love.

MICHELLE: in a shocked voice. Ok, Tory and I are just about finished with the reception. Once we finish we will be right there. Oh I hope that this is true! looks in panic at Tory as Belle hangs up the phone, then drags him to a secluded place. Belle thinks that the baby that ma was carrying made it. She is in an orphanage though. We have to go with Aunt Belle when the reception is over. If this is true I will be so happy!

Tory beams and the newlyweds finish their reception, sternly keeping the excitement from showing on their face. At last the reception is over and after the shower of rice is over they exit, huge grins on their face and hope blooming in their hearts.
